talkboxes

these were installed on opposite ends of the building. pressing buttons on one lit up the corresponding lights on the other, allowing you to type messages to some anonymous person at the other end. if one person pushed some buttons, the blinking lights on the other end would often attract someone else. i wanted to reward the curious and give them something to play with.

they were made with thrifted boxes, pushbuttons, white leds, and 2 arduino megas connected over a half-duplex serial line.
